There are millions of people who follow the teachings of a man named C.I. Scofield, and he is best known for the Scofield Bible which incorporated his notes right along with the scriptures from God’s Word. Many of those millions have so memorized Scofield’s teachings (just a man), that you would think they were the scriptures (God’s Word) themselves that they were quoting. William Cox was formerly numbered among those who were deceived by the Scofield Bible for many years until he realized that it was complete heresy! C.I.Scofield (and his Bible) has led millions astray with his dispensational teachings concerning modern-day Israel. Here is an example of how Scofield interprets the Bible:
In the book of Ezekiel chapter 43, we find the following verse:
And thou shalt give to the priests the Levites that be of the seed of Zadok, which approach unto me, to minister unto me, saith the Lord GOD, a young bullock for a SIN offering. (Ezekiel 43:19)
In his study notes for Ezekiel 43:19, the Scofield Bible declares the following.

Doubtless these offerings will be memorial, looking back to the cross, as the offerings under the old covenant were anticipatory, looking forward to the cross. In neither case have animal sacrifices power to put away sin. Heb 10:4, Rom 3:25

Mr. Scofield believed in a future Jewish Temple that would be rebuilt, and he insisted that the sacrifices in that Temple would be memorial in nature. His teachings are shared by many of the “famous Christian ministries” of our day also. That interpretation by Mr. Scofield has gotten over on millions in our time. That verse tells us that a young bullock (bull) would be sacrificed for a SIN offering, by priests, who were of the lineage of Zadok. A SIN offering was done for the purpose of expiating SIN. It was the BLOOD from those sacrifices that would atone for the sins of the people. Ezekiel never mentioned this sacrifice of a bullock as being memorial in nature at all. All the sacrifices in the Old Covenant were shadows, or types, which pointed forward to the perfect and final sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
This type of teaching is a smack in the face to the finished perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross! That is going backward, and not forward! That is returning to the SHADOW after the REALITY (Jesus Christ) has come! Do not be fooled by Scofield (and his Bible), and similar teachings. Go back to the Bible and take Jesus at his word!
In fact, the Bible teaches us that God HAD NO PLEASURE in animal sacrifices. If God HAD NO PLEASURE in the animal sacrifices, why would He allow them to be set up again? It is the Christians who are being SET UP by the Devil himself because they CHOOSE to FOLLOW MAN and NOT the Lord! The whole point of the Bible was to point us to Jesus Christ the Son of God! If people are still looking to set up a Temple, then it only reinforces the TRUTH that they still REJECT Jesus Christ! The whole Christian walk is a walk of FAITH, and it has nothing to do with sacrificing animals as a MEMORIAL! The DEATH of Christ is a FINISHED work! Do not be FOOLED by the Dispensational scripture twisters. Remember that these teachings came along recently in the 1800s when other “cult-like” teachings such as the Watchtower Society (Jehovah’s Witnesses) and the Mormons also came along. Folks take heed to what you are hearing here.
For it is NOT POSSIBLE that the blood of bulls and of goats should TAKE AWAY SINS. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, NEITHER HADST PLEASURE THEREIN; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh AWAY the FIRST, that he may establish the SECOND. (Hebrews 10:4-9)
The scripture passage told us that it was not possible for the animal sacrifices to take away sins, but look at what John the Baptist had to say about Jesus Christ:
“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which TAKETH AWAY the SIN of the world.” (John 1:29)
John the Baptist prophesied that Jesus Christ was the one who would TAKE AWAY the SIN of the world! Could the scriptures have made it any clearer? Are you beginning to understand the gross deception that has infiltrated so many churches today? The bottom line is that Satan absolutely hates Jesus Christ, and he hates the truth about the BLOOD of Jesus Christ even more! There will not be any memorial type of sacrifices in the future at all. That is nothing but a sham, and it is an absolute insult to Jesus Christ himself. Why in the world would God Almighty want his people to offer up animal sacrifices as a memorial to his perfect sacrifice on the cross? The whole idea is ludicrous, but more importantly, it is downright wicked! The Roman Catholic church does not even attempt to hide its own wicked deception, as they insist that Jesus Christ is sacrificed in an “unbloody manner” on their Catholic altars!
“In this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the Mass, the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross is contained and is offered in an unbloody manner.” Catechism of the Catholic Church, p. 344, para 1367
Jesus Christ is not a sacrament to be sacrificed and offered up on Roman Catholic man-made altars. That is nothing but “sacramentalism”, and it is demonic to the very core. That counterfeit teaching has kept billions in bondage and spiritual death for centuries, and the modern-day church has no problem with it either. If you are still in that spiritual bondage turn to the Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of your soul right now.
Four different times we find the term “his own blood” in the Bible, referring to the BLOOD of Jesus Christ which can justify the ungodly from their sins. How dare any preacher (including C.I. Scofield) tell anybody, that there will be a future animal sacrificial sin offering before Almighty God. If people do not receive the truth about the FINAL and perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ, they will spend eternity in Hell! God does not need any kind of animal to be sacrificed to remind you of the awesome death of His Son. There are millions throughout the world in false religious systems that attempt to atone for their sins all to no avail because God will only accept the one-time sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ! Here are the four references that I mentioned earlier:
1] Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with HIS OWN BLOOD. (Acts 20:28)
2] Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by HIS OWN BLOOD he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (Hebrews 9:12)
3] Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with HIS OWN BLOOD, suffered without (outside) the gate. (Hebrews 13:12)
4] And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in HIS OWN BLOOD, (Revelation 1:5)
People need to know that there will never be another sacrifice that will satisfy the justice of Almighty God, outside the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. I have said it many times, and I will say it again. Preach the Gospel to the Jewish people EXACTLY the way that you preach it to the Gentiles because there is absolutely no difference between those two groups in the sight of Almighty God. There are tons of pastors who should not even be in their pulpits today because they have never even ONCE addressed the need for the Jewish people to repent and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ like anybody else. Satan has ensnared them with a FEAR of being labeled Anti Semitic, and so they hold back the truth that can set the Jewish people free. Take Jesus Christ at his word. He knew that the Jewish people needed to repent just like everybody else. He wept over Jerusalem because of their rebellion against him:
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! (Luke 13:34)
Do you think that there will be even ONE person in this world that will escape the judgment of Almighty God if they reject his very own Son, whom he sent to die for our sins? Folks, it is not going to happen. Millions of Christians have their ears tickled by preachers who soft soap the Gospel, week after week, and refuse to warn their people about an eternal Hell. Any person who rejects Jesus Christ will spend eternity in Hell. You will not hear that preached in most churches today. Folks listen to the message that Jesus told his followers to preach. He was standing before them, after he had risen from the dead, with the fatal wounds visible for all to see.
And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be FULFILLED, which were written in the law of MOSES, and in the PROPHETS, and in the PSALMS, concerning ME. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among ALL nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (Luke 24:44-47)
That was the message that Jesus told his followers (and us) to preach and there is no other message to preach. A shadow is a shadow, and a type is a type, but the REALITY and the FULFILLMENT are found in Jesus Christ.

Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. (Hebrews 10:5-13)
There is not a sacrifice today that will ever atone and satisfy the justice of God, outside the cross. That sacrifice took place at a historical place in time. It is finished (John 19:30) and God does not need any memorial sacrificial offerings for anybody, or from anybody. The LAW revealed the SIN of the people (Romans 3:19-20), and the LAW silenced every person from justifying themselves before a Holy and righteous God. When Jesus finished his job, he sat down at the right hand of his Father in Heaven. It is unfortunate that many throughout the world still go through their religious rituals and traditions, attempting to appease the justice of God, when He already did that through His only Son!
For when we were yet without strength, in due time CHRIST died for the UNGODLY. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But GOD commendeth his LOVE toward us, in that, while we were yet SINNERS, CHRIST died for US. Much more then, being now JUSTIFIED by his BLOOD, we shall be SAVED from WRATH through HIM. (Romans 5:6-9)
